Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 |

For news of the updated version click here. The original Samsung Galaxy Note was an oversized smartphone that could be used with a stylus, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is very much a full-sized tablet. So what makes it different from the new Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab (10.1)?
Despite the similarity in size, the Note 10.1 is a much more powerful and sophisticated beast. For a start, the Note range comes with an application called "S Note" which allows you to organise notes and information, create sketches and storyboards and annotate video streams plus many other features. Unlike other tablets, the S Note is more about creating content than just browsing it. The second difference is that the Note 10.1 is a faster device than the Tab, with a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, although it still packs 1GB of RAM and comes with 16, 32 or 64GB of internal flash memory plus a microSD slot. The Note 10.1 supports GPS and GLONASS positioning systems, so you can use it as a oversized SatNav if you can find an appropriate mounting kit.
This is an Android 4.0 device, it comes with the "S Note" application mentioned above with other Samsung goodies thrown in. It is definitely a step up from the Tab 2, and we expect that the price will reflect that when it finally comes to market later this year. |
