Nokia 1661
Discontinued 4th November 2008
Nokia's cheapest colour phone, the Nokia
1661 is priced at just €30 / £25 before tax
and subsidy.. but it manages to look like a much
more expensive handset.
Despite the attractive exterior, there's
not an awful lot to the Nokia 1661. The 1.8" 128
x 160 pixel display is certainly better than the one
found in the slightly cheaper Nokia
1202. There's no web browser, Bluetooth, camera
or multimedia player.. on the other hand it does come
with an integrated FM radio and a flashlight, plus multiple
phonebooks and a call cost tracker.
Talktime is an impressive 8 hours with
up to 26 days standby time (which is nearly a month).
It is a lightweight device at just 82 grams and the
Nokia 1661 measures 108 x 45 x 14mm.
If you are looking for a very basic
phone, but you don't want it to look like a very
basic phone, then the Nokia 1661 is definitely worth
considering.
Nokia say that the 1661 should be available
during Q1 2009 in black or grey colour schemes.
