Motorola RAZR V |

now Initially heading for Asian markets, the Motorola RAZR V is another addition to Motorola's RAZR line of high-end smartphones.
The RAZR V has a smaller footprint than the original RAZR but is thicker at 8.35mm compared to 7.1mm on the original. The RAZR V runs Android 4.0 out of the box rather than the other RAZR models that run Android 2.3 with a long overdue upgrade promised. The internal memory on the RAZR V is just 4GB compared to 16GB on the RAZR and RAZR MAXX, although there's a microSD slot that can accept up to an additional 32GB of flash storage. The RAZR V also has an integrated FM radio where the original does not. Cosmetically the RAZR V is a little different to the other RAZRs while retaining the familiar Kevlar back. The physical buttons have gone on the front, but inside the RAZR V is almost identical to the original.
The Motorola RAZR V is based around a dual-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the front is a 4.3" 540 x 960 pixel panel with a 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling. On the back is an 8 megapixel primary camera with 1080p HD video capture capabilities. Inside is a 1750 mAh battery which is about the same as the original RAZR. Of course, all the usual Android features are here too including 3.5G support, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and USB connectivity plus access to thousands of applications in the Android Play store. Motorola say that the display has been enhanced with something called ColorBoost technology to make the colours sharper and more vivid. One other key enhancement is "Smart Actions" which allows the user to program the RAZR to do certain actions in predefined circumstances, for example starting Google Maps when the phone is placed in a car dock.
Motorola say that the RAZR V should be available during Q3 2012 in charcoal, white and pink colours, although there's already a version of this handset for sale in China as the Motorola MT887. There's no word on availability outside of Asia at present. |
